Depra vs AiSensy
Depra vs AiSensy. The honest comparison.
AiSensy is a WhatsApp broadcast and flow-builder for SMBs. Depra is an AI agent that closes - across WhatsApp, voice, and email - without a human in the loop. Pick by what you actually need: send-and-pray broadcasts, or revenue conversion.
The wedge
Why brands switch from AiSensy.
AiSensy's pitch is broadcast volume at low per-message cost. It's a fine fit for brands whose WhatsApp strategy is 'send a coupon to everyone, see who clicks.' The chatbot builder is a basic decision-tree. The retention play is on the operator, not the platform.
Depra is built for the next conversation, not the broadcast. Our AI agent reads order context, handles objections, runs the COD-to-prepaid play on voice, and resolves 87% of conversations end-to-end. Broadcasts work - but they're a fallback when the customer doesn't reply within 24 hours, not the strategy.
If you're optimizing for cost-per-broadcast-sent, AiSensy. If you're optimizing for revenue-recovered-per-conversation, Depra. The denominator is what matters.

Migration guide
Switching from AiSensy to Depra.
Most teams are live on Depra in under a week. Your WhatsApp Business Account, phone numbers, and customer data move with you - Depra never locks any of it.
Step 01
Transfer the WABA
Your WhatsApp Business Account and phone number stay yours. We coordinate the BSP migration from AiSensy to Depra (Meta Cloud API) - typically 24-48 hours. Existing conversation history is preserved.
Step 02
Templates and broadcast lists
Approved AiSensy templates retain their Meta-approved status when ported. We import your broadcast contact lists with opt-in evidence intact.
Step 03
Replace decision-tree flows with playbooks
Depra's AI replaces most of the if/then logic AiSensy required. We map your existing flows to Depra's day-one playbooks (cart recovery, COD confirmation, NDR recovery, refund-to-exchange) and customize.
Step 04
Connect Shopify, payments, shipping
Depra reads live order data on every conversation. We connect Shopify, Razorpay/Cashfree/PhonePe, and Shiprocket/Delhivery so the AI knows order status and can act on it.
Step 05
Run in parallel, then cut over
Most brands run both for 1 week to validate, then move triggers and pause AiSensy. Average end-to-end migration: 5-10 business days.
FAQ
Common questions.
- Is Depra cheaper than AiSensy?
- It depends on volume mix. AiSensy markets the lowest sticker price for entry plans, but adds markup to WhatsApp conversation costs. Depra passes WhatsApp costs through at Meta's rates and bills per conversation. For brands at >1,000 conversations/month with COD/NDR volume, Depra is typically cheaper because the AI closes conversations without human-agent overhead.
- AiSensy's chatbot builder is enough for my use case. Why upgrade?
- If you're only running send-coupon broadcasts and FAQ deflection, AiSensy is fine. The case for Depra kicks in when you start losing revenue on (a) COD orders that should convert to prepaid, (b) NDR shipments that need a save call, (c) abandoned carts where templates aren't enough. Decision-tree chatbots can't reason about those - they need an AI agent.
- Will I lose my approved Meta templates if I switch?
- No. Approved templates are tied to your WABA, not the BSP. We import them and they keep their Meta-approved status.
- Does Depra do voice calls? AiSensy doesn't.
- Yes. Depra's voice agent handles COD confirmation, NDR recovery, and lead qualification on natural Indian voices (Hindi, English, regional). This is one of the biggest reasons brands move from broadcast-only platforms to Depra - voice is where the COD-to-prepaid economics break.
- What about email? My customers email me too.
- Depra's email agent triages and replies to inbound email and runs cart-recovery sequences. AiSensy is WhatsApp-only - if email is part of your funnel, you'd need a separate tool today.
- How long does migration take?
- Most brands are live in 5-10 business days end-to-end. The WABA transfer takes 24-48 hours; template import is automatic; flow translation is the longest piece because Depra's AI replaces most of your existing flow logic.
- Can I see Depra and AiSensy side by side on my own data?
- Book a demo and we'll set up a sandbox using sample data from your category. For brands serious about migration we run a 7-day paid pilot on a sample of your real customers.
