AI visibility for health and wellness brands means knowing when ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews name your supplement, protein, Ayurveda or fitness brand. Google AI Overviews are the AI summaries above some Google results. Depra AI measures this, and the websites each answer cites. It asks from inside India, or any of its 40 markets, and keeps every full answer.
One rule runs through this page: nothing here is a health claim for any product. Depra AI records what engines say and gives no medical advice. Other categories are on Depra AI solutions.
How do health and wellness buyers find brands in AI answers?
They ask an AI engine the buying question, then follow the brands and stores it names. A buyer asks which whey protein fits a ₹3,000 budget, or which brands publish lab reports. Another asks which yoga mat suits a beginner, or whether to buy ashwagandha as capsules or powder.
Google says its systems give even more weight to content with strong E-E-A-T on topics that could significantly affect people's health, financial stability or safety. It calls these "Your Money or Your Life" topics (Google Search Central, checked 8 Oct 2026). E-E-A-T stands for experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness.
Cited sources shape which brands an answer names. Depra AI's study of 480 AI shopping answers, from ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity in India on 14 August 2026, counted 4,640 citations: youtube.com drew 534 and reddit.com 191. It asked about skincare and fashion, not protein or Ayurveda, so check your own answers first.
Stores and pharmacies get cited too. HealthKart describes itself as an authentic supplement store and sells protein, vitamins and Ayurveda products (HealthKart, checked 8 Oct 2026). Tata 1mg, an online pharmacy, sells vitamins, protein supplements and Ayurveda products (Tata 1mg, checked 8 Oct 2026). PharmEasy lists vitamins, supplements and Ayurvedic care (PharmEasy, checked 8 Oct 2026). Depra AI shows which of them your own answers cite.
What does Depra AI track for a health and wellness brand?
It tracks what ChatGPT with web search, Gemini and Google AI Overviews (daily) and Perplexity (weekly) say about you and your rivals, asked from inside your market.
OpenAI says shopping in ChatGPT is live for users in the US today and will expand to more regions (OpenAI merchants page, checked 7 Oct 2026). If you track questions for India, your Shopping report may show few or no products until ChatGPT shows products there.
- Brand mentions: how often answers to "best whey protein in India" name you, where you come in the list, and the tone, with the quoted sentence.
- Product prompts: whether answers to "best chocolate whey protein under ₹3,000" name your product, a rival's or neither, on all four engines.
- The products ChatGPT shows: brands ranked by share of shopping answers, with SKUs and top merchants. ChatGPT only, on every plan; see product visibility.
- Sources by site type: cited sites labelled by type, marketplace included, so you see whether protein answers lean on retailers, forums or video.
- Gap analysis: sites cited in answers that name a rival but not you (Growth and above). See citation gap analysis.
- Brand perception: the qualities AI ties to you and each rival, such as "good for beginners".
- Facts: facts such as your 1 kg pack price, and how many answer claims supported or contradicted each over 28 days.
- Recent changes: what moved between the last two scan days, such as a rival new to ashwagandha answers.
- Actions: pages to publish, sites to get cited on and own-site checks, with evidence.
- Languages and markets: Hinglish versions (Hindi and English typed in English letters) are suggested when India is a market, and a project covers up to 10 of 40 markets, such as the UAE for an Ayurveda brand.
How do I set up Depra AI for a supplement or wellness brand?
A supplement or wellness brand sets it up alone, with no sales call: Depra AI is self-serve software. The quickstart covers each step.
- 1. Sign up. Enter your brand's own site at app.depra.ai/signup, not a marketplace listing. A first free scan of ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity runs during setup and needs no card.
- 2. Confirm your profile, markets and rivals. Correct the drafted brand profile, pick markets, and keep or change the proposed competitors.
- 3. Choose your questions. Tick from up to 5 suggested topics of 8 questions each, and add your own from the table below.
- 4. Start the trial. Pick Starter, Growth or Scale and add a card or UPI AutoPay for 3 days free. Tracking on all four engines then begins. Starter is ₹1,999 a month plus GST.
- 5. Read your first results. Checks run daily, Perplexity weekly, so compare whole weeks, such as before and after a protein launch.
How does Depra AI read a wellness brand's store and data?
DepraBot, Depra AI's web reader, reads your store's public product list without an access token, so Depra AI knows which products are yours. On Shopify it uses the Storefront API (and /products.json when needed). On other stores it tries the WooCommerce Store API, and if no API lists products, it reads your sitemaps and up to 3 product pages.
It reads only your own site, its subdomains and your myshopify.com address, and obeys robots.txt, the file where a site sets rules for crawlers. If robots.txt keeps it out, upload your product list as a file. Scans run at setup, weekly and on Fetch: 3 a day per project on Starter and Growth, 5 on Scale and Enterprise. Depra AI never changes a store. See About DepraBot and the store catalogue docs.
Answers are collected from inside your market: ChatGPT and Gemini from their web apps, AI Overviews from a real Google results page, Perplexity through Perplexity's API. Every answer is stored in full (methodology).
A Depra AI app for Shopify is coming to the Shopify App Store. When it is listed, it will read your products, collections and store pages. Until then, setup needs no Shopify app and no access token.
How does a wellness team connect Depra AI to Claude and other AI apps?
Through the Depra AI MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI app such as Claude Code read another service's data. This server is read-only and included on every plan while the trial or subscription is active.
It cannot change a project, start a scan or edit a website. A token can read only the projects its creator can access, so keep it secret. Owners and admins can switch off members' tokens. Claude on the web and ChatGPT cannot connect yet. MCP setup has each app's exact files; the MCP docs and tools reference cover the rest.
- 1. Open API Keys in the Depra AI app sidebar, under Company.
- 2. Create a token with the Create token button.
- 3. Pick your app's tab: Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Desktop, Codex or Other.
- 4. Add the server and token as the tab shows, with the address https://api.depra.ai/mcp. Claude Desktop also needs Node.js 18 or later.
- 5. Restart or reload, as the tab says, such as quitting and reopening Claude Desktop.
- 6. Test it. Ask: "List my Depra AI projects."

What improves AI visibility for health and wellness brands?
Six things specific to this category. None guarantees a mention; each gives AI engines something accurate to cite.
Put label facts on the page, never cure claims
For health supplements and nutraceuticals, the text that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) published in March 2022 says these products shall not claim to treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any specific disease, disorder or condition. Only the Food Authority can permit such a claim. The text also asks for "NOT FOR MEDICINAL USE" in capital and bold letters on the label, with the recommended usage level. FSSAI's covering direction applied that text from 1 April 2022, ahead of final notification (FSSAI, checked 8 Oct 2026).
Put your label facts on each product page as text: serving size, nutrients per serving and pack sizes. Check the current FSSAI rules with your regulatory adviser first.
Keep Ayurveda pages inside the advertising law
The Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 bars certain drug advertisements, including any that suggest using a drug to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat or prevent a disease, disorder or condition in its Schedule. The Schedule lists diabetes, obesity, high or low blood pressure and stature of persons, among others (text of the Act, checked 8 Oct 2026).
The Ministry of Ayush says it does not certify or approve any Ayurvedic, Siddha, Unani or Homeopathic company or medicine (Ministry of Ayush public notice, checked 8 Oct 2026). So never write "approved by the Ministry of Ayush". Describe ingredients, tradition and use, and leave disease words out.
Make lab reports easy to check
If you test batches, publish each report with the lab's name, the batch number and the date, and link it from the product page. Then a question about which brands publish lab reports has a page of yours to cite.
Work with qualified creators
The influencer guidelines of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) carry an addendum dated 6 March 2025. It says influencers posting about health and nutrition must hold relevant qualifications, such as a medical degree or certification as a nutritionist or dietician. They must state these upfront (ASCI, checked 8 Oct 2026). Then use the gap list to find the videos and forum threads that cite your rivals.
Get listed where buyers shop, with the same facts everywhere
Where answers cite a pharmacy, store or marketplace that has no page for you, create or claim your listing so the page exists for an engine to find and cite. Keep the product name, pack size and price the same on every listing.
Have a qualified person write or review your guides
Google strongly encourages accurate authorship information, such as bylines where readers might expect them (Google Search Central, checked 8 Oct 2026). Have a nutritionist or registered practitioner write or review your guides, and name them. Use the ChatGPT search queries Depra AI stores to pick which questions to answer first.
What does Depra AI not do for health and wellness brands?
Depra AI measures AI answers. Marketing, listings and regulatory checks stay with your team and advisers.
- No medical advice or claim review: it does not judge whether a health statement is true, or whether a claim meets FSSAI, ASCI or drug advertising rules.
- No marketplace or pharmacy data: no rankings inside a marketplace's or online pharmacy's own search, no sales, prices, stock, reviews, Buy Box or ads, and no Amazon Rufus.
- Product cards from ChatGPT only: the other three engines are tracked for brand mentions and sources.
- No content or store changes: it does not write pages, edit your website or change your store.
- No guarantees: when you mark an action done, the before-and-after view is not proof of cause, and no result is promised.
- Other limits: no city-level tracking, no Hindi (Devanagari) questions and no alerts. The full list is on AI facts.
