The action plan is a ranked list of next steps, built from your stored AI answers. Each action comes with the evidence behind it. Open the Actions page once you have your first scores and want to know what to do next.
What are the three kinds of action?
| Kind | What it asks you to do | Name in MCP reports |
|---|---|---|
| Pages to publish or update | Publish or update a page on your own site, in a format AI cites in your category | OWNED |
| Sites to get cited on | Get your brand named on a site you do not own that AI cites in your category | EARNED |
| Checks on your own site | Fix something on your own site that a check flagged | SITE_AUDIT |
The list is in priority order, with priority 1 first. Depra AI lists up to 12 sites to get cited on and up to 12 page formats to publish. Every plan includes the full action plan.
Site checks cover only the pages Depra AI has read. Where page data is available, they can flag missing structured data, indexing restrictions and AI crawler blocks. Structured data is code that tells machines what a page contains. An indexing restriction is a setting that keeps a page out of search results. These checks do not replace a full site audit.
What states can an action have?
An action has one of four states: to do, in progress, done or skipped. Reports read through the Depra AI MCP server name them TODO, IN_PROGRESS, DONE and SKIPPED.
- Done: means shipped. Depra AI records the date and saves your numbers at that moment.
- Skipped: you chose to skip the action.
Done and skipped actions keep their state when the list refreshes. A finished pitch does not come back as a new suggestion. A suggestion you have not touched drops off the list when it stops being a gap.
Each action also has steps, and every step has its own done state.
What does the evidence show?
Each action carries the research it is based on. Every number in it comes from your stored answers.
- Answers: the number of answers the action is based on.
- Rates: your rate and your rivals' rates as percentages of those answers, each with a 95% band.
- Prompts: the prompts the action affects.
- Pages: the pages the engines cite instead.
- Quotes: quotes from the research.
- What to do: the steps, and a content brief, a pitch or a platform check.
A wide band means few answers. Read an action based on few answers with care. The band is explained in metrics.
Note: DepraBot is the Depra AI web reader. For this research it may read pages beyond the ones AI answers cited. One example is a list page found by a search.
How do I see what changed after an action?
Mark the action done, then read your scores against that date. At that moment Depra AI records the date. It also saves your visibility, your share of voice and the number of answers behind them over the last 30 days.
Depra AI charts visibility, sentiment and average position by day, week or month. Every done action is listed with the date you finished it. Read the chart against those dates to see what moved after each action.
Warning: A change after an action is not proof of cause. AI answers shift for many reasons at once, including the work your competitors do and engine updates. Read it as what changed after the action.
What does the action plan not do?
Depra AI measures, ranks and checks. Your team or agency does the work.
- No content writing: you get the page format and a brief. Depra AI does not write the page.
- No outreach: Depra AI names the sites and shows the evidence. It does not email editors or post in forums.
- No guaranteed mentions: no tool controls what an AI engine says.
- No full site audit: the site checks cover the pages read and nothing more.
- No traffic or sales figures: Depra AI does not track visits or sales that came from AI answers.
Which action should I start with?
- 1
Start at the top of the list
The Actions page puts priority 1 first.
- 2
Read the evidence
Check the numbers behind the action before you commit time.
- 3
Do the work
Follow the steps, using the brief, the pitch or the platform check.
- 4
Mark it done
Do this when the work is live. Done means shipped.
The most urgent moves, called your top fixes, also appear on the printable report. See reports and exports. To see where a gap comes from, read sources and gaps. For crawler blocks, use the AI crawler check.
